PIE Campuses enter the Football Battlefield at PIE Football Tournament—2018

Football is the beautiful game. It is not just a game but a language spoken by billions, a medium of global unity and a melting pot of cultures. On an individual level, this game has a lot of lessons for people of all ages and all backgrounds. No sports sets a better example of the intricacies of leadership, value of perseverance, and the importance of teamwork.

In view of the Football World-cup this year, and to strengthen the teamwork and leadership skills of it’s students, PIE organized an inter-campus football tournament on 22nd March, 2018. SWAT football field in Banani was chosen as the battlefield. 6 teams from Uttara, Banani, and Dhanmondi campuses participated in the event.

PIE staff members Rezwan Ahmed and Atika Faiza were both very instrumental in organizing the tournament and team management. They also officiated the games. Canadian University, Bangladesh was one of the sponsors of the tournament.

The teams were locked in a 6 hour struggle for the top. The tournament started at 9am and concluded at 3pm. Altogether there were 9 mini matches lasting 20 minutes each. In the dramatic and suspense filled semi finals both teams from the Dhanmondi branch arrived at the finals. They fought a hard battle and PIE Dhanmondi campus emerged as the champions.

The tournament ended with a award giving ceremony. The winning side and the runners both received trophies. Official from Canadian University of Bangladesh and Pi International Education were present at the ceremony.
